What is search engine optimization?
Search engine optimization (Search Engine Optimization) is also often known by the abbreviation SEO and describes all measures on the Internet that serve to improve the ranking of a website and general visibility in the search results of search engines (SERPS), such as Google and Co improve.
What else belongs to SEO?
In addition to search engine advertising (SEA), search engine optimization is a sub-area of search engine marketing (SEM) and an overall important component of online marketing. In order to increase visibility in the SERPS, SEO uses various methods, which target either technical optimization, content-structural optimization or optimization outside of the actual website.
What measures are there in the area of SEO?
Search engine optimization measures are on-page optimization, off-page optimization and technical SEO. OffPage is about generating as many backlinks as possible for your own website. Backlinks can be generated through content in the form of videos, e-books, newsletters, blog articles or sharing on social networks. Users then keep linking the content and thus also the website itself. On-page optimization is dedicated to improving the structure and content of the website. Here it is important to write unique content that has added value for the user. In addition, keywords should be researched in advance in a keyword search, which make the landing page findable for the target group. Technical SEO takes care of optimizing all technical aspects of a page, such as the backend (source code, XML sitemap, meta elements). The website should also load quickly (PageSpeed) and be detectable by search engines (indexing and crawling).
