Local 7 Pack is a part of the Google search result for a search with a local reference. For example, if you enter “pharmacy New York”, the user usually does not want to see a pharmacy in Chicago, but rather a selection of options in his or her vicinity. This is because the proportion of local Google searches is rising steadily. With up to 40% of all queries, local searches are becoming increasingly important. Google is therefore constantly trying to improve the user experience and adapt the search as far as possible to the respective user. If a user searches for “pharmacy New York”, seven businesses with address and contact details are displayed directly with a Google Maps entry within the search results. Which companies are displayed here depends on the relevance of the respective company compared to the user query. However, they can of course look forward to more traffic and visitors.

However, there are some measures that need to be taken into account. Among other things, the company needs a Google My Business entry. But also local SEO measures contribute to the increase in relevance, such as having a website that focuses on the location, citations in various business directories, but also fully completed and optimized social media profiles.

However, there are also many deviations from the traditional “Local 7 Pack”. Because depending on the search query, sometimes only three entries are listed. The more convinced the search engine is that the query is a local one, the more entries the Local Pack gets. If the search query is too imprecise and the intention is not clearly visible to Google, the Local 7 Pack is shrunk to three local results.
