The internet trends report 2018

The Internet Trends Report The Little Perkins analyst Mary Meeker forms one of the highlights in the tech world every year and consists of interesting evaluations such as the daily internet use of the citizens of the United States or their daily online time in hours.
Accordingly, the average number of hours of adult users in the USA was 5.9 h/day, of which 3.3 h/day was caused by the use of mobile devices and 2.1 h/day by using desktop or laptops. And the trend continues. In 2012, the use of desktop and laptops with 2.5 h/day was still above mobile devices, the daily online time shows a difference of 1.6 h/day.
On the other hand, internet usage itself only increases, since the distribution rate of smartphones and internet use is already very high.

The mobile numbers is also in an upward trend. The reason for this lies with the rapid adoption of China. Currently, 500 million active users use the mobile payment offer.
Voice-control products such as Amazon Alexa or Google and Apple Homekit are well on the market.

The use of eCommerce continues to increase compared to inpatient shopping. In 2016 the trade volume was still 14%, in the last two years this number rose again by 2%.

Google and Amazon also made an exciting change. The two giant companies moved in different directions, but towards each other. Google moved from a pure advertising platform to a Commerce platform and Vice Versa farmed Amazon.
For many users (49%), Amazon is the first choice for online research and the subsequent orders.

Social networks have also been part of the Commerce stream in recent years. The link between Inspo and Commerce is constantly boosting e-commerce.
As a result, 55% bought a product because they had seen it on social networks.
The largest Commerce triggers include Facebook (78%), Instagram (59%) and Pinterest (59%).

The development of China remains exciting. 5 years ago, China only belonged to two of the 20 largest internet companies. Today, 9 of the 20 largest internet companies have their origins here, including Tencent, Alibaba, Ant Financial and Baidu.
